I am currently developing a Storyline 360 course titled Coding for Good. The course is based on the requirements for earning the Brownie and Junior-level coding badges from Girl Scouts of the USA. This is an independent project and is not affiliated with or sponsored by the Girl Scouts. As a Girl Scout troop leader, I am creating this course to provide members of my own troop with an engaging and accessible way to complete the badge requirements.
As I work through this project, I’ll share samples along the way to highlight my thought process and how the training program comes together.

Design Phase – Content Gathering and Storyboarding
I am currently gathering content from official resources provided by the Girl Scouts of the USA to develop the Coding for Good program. These resources outline the specific requirements that must be met before a girl can earn the badge, and they serve as the foundation for the course content and storyboard.
Rough Draft: I gathered content from multiple sources, compiled and organized it into a Word document, and consulted with professional coders to ensure the material reflects best practices for teaching beginner-level coding.
Current Step --> Storyboard: I am transforming the rough draft content into a PowerPoint storyboard. During this phase, I refine and organize the content to manage cognitive load effectively and design engaging practice activities.
Development Phase
Normally, I do not begin development until the design phase is complete or nearly complete. This helps avoid spending time building content that may need to be reworked or discarded if the project direction changes. However, for this project, I moved slightly ahead into development to better document the process and to create visuals that support the early stages of documentation.
